Fall is a great time to have family portraits made!  The weather is cooler, the leaves are changing, and portraits will make great Christmas cards and gifts!  Here at Martha Peoples Photography, we offer a variety of options for family portraits.  We offer an indoor session or an outdoor session or you can do both! Beach sessions are also an option. We even encourage you to bring the family pet!  Whether you want a large family group or just the immediate family, we've got you covered.  In large groups, we always photograph each individual family as well as children and couples by themselves.

For clothing suggestions, we recommend coordinating colors in groups to prevent any one family member from sticking out.  It is a good idea to pick from 3 or 4 different color schemes.  Using at least 3 colors add WOW to your portrait and shows individual personalities.  Avoid pieces that match exactly.  Think about where you are going to hang your portraits.  You don't want to wear colors that will clash with your decor.  Check out design-seeds.com for color palettes!  We have a STYLE GUIDE available for clothing ideas on our web page under important news.

Any time is a good time for family portraits, but you should have your family photographed at LEAST 3 times in the life of the family.  

• When the youngest child is 2
• When children reach ages 8-12
• Before the oldest child goes off to collage
