Well this month's Storybook was hot!!  We had a "hippie" campout in the backyard in 100 degree weather!  Summer Campout was the 4th in a 5 part Storybook series for 2015.  My idea was to have a bright colorful outdoor shoot that embodied everything about summertime: from lemonade and watermelon to butterflies and comic books. I wanted to capture everything magical about summer in the backyard. We found real butterflies in the flowers and of course some real ants as well.  No picnic is complete without ants!

After capturing bugs, the kids settled down to read comics in the tee pee.

Next we had a bite of watermelon.  Some of the kids ONLY wanted to eat watermelon!

We let our imaginations soar when we found a big box and turned it into a pirate ship!  We even had a kaleidoscope to use as a looking glass!

Nothing says summer like a swing.  We traveled into the woods and found a cool spot to swing with a flower covered swing.

Even though July was a very hot month, we found all kinds of summer fun in our own backyard!
